British gamblers don’t buy Christmas presents

The charity organization GamCare conducted a new survey among problem gamblers in the UK. It turned out that 44% of addicted British gamblers spend money set aside for Christmas. Because of this, they feel excessive anxiety and fear the consequences. 41% of respondents admitted that addiction can distract them from celebrating the holiday with loved ones. GamCare noted that for gamblers, the pre-New Year period is the most dangerous for two reasons:

  • In December, salaries are paid earlier than usual, which is a temptation.
  • The gambling industry is full of promotions and lucrative offers.
