Starting from June 2024, Google is expanding support for real-money gambling (RMG) apps in India, Mexico, and Brazil. The company will continue to apply age and geographical restrictions to ensure user safety and compliance with local regulations.
Since 2021, Google has conducted several pilot programs worldwide, introducing RMG apps on the Play Store. In India, for example, these included Rummy-style card games and Daily Fantasy Sports.
The extended support will undoubtedly lead to increased competition among developers, but the risks associated with online gambling and addiction growth should not be overlooked.
